Try Authentic Mexican Food in Sarasota
Mexican cuisine is popular in the United States. However, a lot of so-called Mexican food in America is NOT authentic. Here are some authentic Mexican foods you should try at Jalisco Mexican Grill.

Chilaquiles
The first authentic Mexican dish you should try is chilaquiles. This dish is traditionally served for breakfast. You can order the carne asada chilaquiles rojo from our all-day menu. We serve this dish with rice, refried beans, lettuce, sour cream, and pico de gallo on the side.
Tacos al Pastor
Up next is tacos al pastor. This dish dates back to the 1920s and 30s when Lebanese and Syrian immigrants moved to Mexico. Al pastor means in the style of shepherd, and these tacos are made with thin strips of pork. At Jalisco Mexican Grill, we add rice, charro beans, fresh onion, cilantro, lime, and a spicy sauce to the dish.
Enchiladas
Enchiladas are authentic Mexican food you may already be familiar with. Jalisco Mexican Grill serves several different enchilada dishes you will have to try for yourself. Our enchiladas supreme is made with a combination of chicken, beef, cheese, and beans topped with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream. We also have enchiladas rancheras, which are made from four specialty prepared enchiladas with beef and topped with melted cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream.
Tamales
Another popular authentic Mexican food is tamales. This food dates back to the Aztec, Mayan, and Inca tribes. These tribes used to eat tamales on the go when in battle. Our tamales dinner is made with two tamales and served with rice and your choice of soup or a house salad.
