National Burrito Day is April 1, 2021, and here at Jalisco Mexican Grill, we are celebrating with, you guessed it, burritos! So join the fun and enjoy one of our many delicious burritos this National Burrito Day.

“Burrito” literally means “little donkey”, likely named so because the stuffed tortillas resemble the bundle’s burros carried on their backs. Burritos are said to have originated in Guanajuato and Guerrero in the late 19th Century before moving north into California and showing up in restaurants in Los Angeles, Fresno, and Stockton in the 1930s. Burritos quickly became popular and are now a favorite staple across all regions.

Of course, over time, the burrito has seen some changes. Traditional burritos mainly consisted of meat, but burritos today are filled with everything from rice and beans to fresh veggies and guacamole. If you like traditional flavors, then you will love Jalisco Mexican Grill’s Burrito Asada — a favorite in Mexico, it is filled with your choice of meat and beans, topped with salsa verde and cheese dip, and served with fresh pico de gallo, lettuce, guacamole, and sour cream.

If you like your burrito fried, then you will love our Chimichanga — topped with cheese dip, with lettuce, tomato, guacamole, and sour cream on the side, and generous servings of rice and beans, your hunger cravings will certainly be satisfied this National Burrito Day. And if you like the flavors of a breakfast burrito, then stop by Jalisco Mexican Grill in the daytime and try our Chorizo Burritos stuffed with eggs and served with sides of rice and beans.

Our margaritas are the perfect pairing with one of our burritos, but you do not have to take our word for it — stop by Jalisco Mexican Grill for Happy Hour Tuesday-Sunday 3 pm-7 pm and enjoy our house margarita on the rocks for only $3.75!

Jalisco Mexican Grill is open every day from 12 pm-9 pm. We are a family-friendly restaurant, and kids eat free on Sundays with the purchase of an adult entree. We also accept reservations and have takeout available for your convenience.

Jalisco Mexican Grill is located at 8389 S Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34238. If you have any questions, please give us a call at 941-217-4536.
