Celebrate National Tequila Day with a Drink at Jalisco Mexican Grill
Seeking an excuse to throw back some tequila with your friends? Well, National Tequila Day is the perfect reason to grab a drink with some pals. Celebrate National Tequila Day with a drink at Jalisco Mexican Grill.
National Tequila Day is July 24. Before there was tequila, there was a beverage known as pulque. Pulque was made from agave, just like tequila, but pulque was more milky and frothy in texture and consistency. Pulque dates all the way back to 1000 B.C. during the Mesoamerican times. A more modern version of tequila was first crafted in the 16th Century A.D.
In 1600, Spanish aristocrat Don Pedro Sanchez de Tagle opened the very first tequila factory in Jalisco. Jalisco is now the modern city of Tequila. Following Don Pedro Sanchez de Tagle’s factory was Don Jose Antioni de Cuervo’s Vino Mexcal de Tequila de Jose Cuervo’s factory in 1795, which is the most successful tequila brand to this day.
