Celebrate National Pina Colada Day with Jalisco Mexican Restaurant
Do you like Pina Coladas? This frosty and creamy drink is made up of coconut cream, rum, and pineapple. The Pina Colada got its start in Puerto Rico in the 50s, and today it is the favorite drink of many people across the globe. July 10 is National Pina Colada Day, so consider celebrating with Jalisco Mexican Grill!

The exact origins of the Pina Colada are unknown, but many believe the drink was first prepared by bartender Ramon “Monchito” Marreo at the Caribe Hilton’s Beachcomber Bar in San Juan, Puerto Rico on August 16, 1954. The hotel requested Marreo make a new signature drink that tasted like how the island felt.
Pina Coladas are a beloved drink for many reasons. For one, they taste like an island vacation. Whether you’re actually on the beach or you just want to feel like you are, a Pina Colada can help you relax and unwind with vacation vibes. Another reason people love Pina Coladas is because they taste great without alcohol too. Whether you want a drink you can serve to your child or you don’t drink alcohol, a Pina Colada is a drink for everyone when you remove the rum.
National Pina Colada Day is Friday, July 10, 2020. What better day of the week to celebrate?
