All About Street Tacos
Everybody loves tacos! However, not everyone knows about the history of the taco. To learn all about street tacos, keep reading.

Origins of the Taco
Today, when we think of tacos, we think of the tasty food wrapped in a tortilla shell and packed with meat and toppings. However, this is not always what the word taco implied. Before the 19th century, the word taco referred to an explosive used in Mexican silver mines.
How Was The First Taco Made?
The very first Mexican street tacos only included meat, onions, cilantro, salsa, and a corn tortilla. It wasn’t until tacos grew in popularity in the United States that the food included lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese. The most popular meats used in authentic street tacos are carne asada, al pastor, carnitas, and barbacoa.
